20 to 30 min
Arrive and align
Goals, context, constraints, and what good actually looks like for this decision.
Nothing is explored until everyone is deciding the same thing.
Mount Kid, West Cork
WildFuture runs facilitated strategy offsites and Thinking Trails on a rewilded 70 acre parkland in West Cork. Twenty minutes to agree what you are actually deciding, then hours of structured thinking outdoors and at base, then a short sit down to write the decisions and the plan down.
Drawn to the durations WildFuture publishes for a full day offsite. The short blocks at either end are the only part of the day that looks like a meeting.
The three blocks
The shape is deliberate. Agreement on the question is quick, the thinking is not, and the writing down is protected rather than squeezed into the last five minutes.
20 to 30 min
Goals, context, constraints, and what good actually looks like for this decision.
Nothing is explored until everyone is deciding the same thing.
2 to 5 hours
Structured facilitation on the move and back at base: options, trade offs, decisions.
A Thinking Trail is a core part of the process, not a break in it.
30 to 45 min
Priorities, decisions and a practical 30 to 60 day plan, captured while everyone is still in the room.
You leave with a short written capture, not a promise to circulate notes.
What you leave with
The test of an offsite is what survives the drive home. WildFuture sessions are designed backwards from that.
Priorities, decisions and next steps, produced in the session rather than after it.
Session options
Content is tailored to your situation. These are the common starting points, and a short call is usually the quickest way to work out which one fits.
3 to 4 hours
For alignment, a stuck decision, or a reset of priorities. Includes one Thinking Trail and a facilitated synthesis with captured next steps.
6 to 7 hours
For strategy refresh, planning, complex change, or multi stakeholder alignment. Includes workshop blocks plus one or more Thinking Trails, with decisions and an action plan captured.
Two parts, overnight
For deeper work, or when you want more space between sessions. Overnight stays can be arranged at the WildFuture Farmhouse at Gurrane or with local accommodation partners.
Who it is for
Thinking Trails
A Thinking Trail is a structured conversation on the move, run one to one or with a small group. It suits founders and leaders who need perspective, options and a clear next step on a single live challenge, without booking out a whole day.
The same three blocks apply, compressed: agree the question, walk it, write down what you decided.
Facilitated by
Founder of WildFuture. Two decades building and leading an engineering business, then a decade helping build a rural innovation ecosystem in West Cork, now facilitating the decisions other leadership teams are stuck on.
The style is calm, structured and practical: listen closely, challenge gently, and use simple frameworks to help a team surface what really matters, explore the options, and decide.
Practicalities
Mount Kid is a working rewilding project as well as a venue: seventy acres of habitat restoration and nature friendly stewardship, which is a useful place to think about trade offs and time horizons because it is full of them.
Optional prep and follow up sessions are available to clarify goals beforehand and embed actions afterwards. Facilitation can also be delivered at your own site, though Mount Kid is the recommended format.
Next step
A short call is the quickest way to explore fit. Say what the decision is and who needs to be in the room, and you will get a recommendation on whether a Strategy Offsite or a Thinking Trail is the right format.
